About Us
Allan Company was founded in 1963 by current president
Stephen Young. Allan Company has since grown to
become one of the largest independently owned
broker, packer, and exporter of recovered fiber
in the Western United States. We currently handle
over one million tons of recovered fiber annually
both
domestically and overseas.
Our broad base of supply and sales outlets allows
us to capitalize and respond quickly to global
supply shortages. In addition, this global market
leverage insures consistent flow of local materials
at preferred market pricing levels.
Allan Company's corporate headquarters
is located in Baldwin Park, California (approximately
15 miles east of downtown Los Angeles). Allan
Company's numerous operations include: 12 recycling
centers throughout Southern and Central California,
sales offices in Chicago and Phoenix, and a roll
division that maintains over 15,000 tons of finished
product for immediate shipment.
Due
to our large warehousing capacity and proximity
to the Port of Long Beach, Allan Company has the
ability to meet the fiber needs of overseas mills
in a timely manner. Our high generation of bulk
grades such as Old Newspaper, Old Corrugated Containers,
Mixed Paper, and many other like grades allows
us to provide substantial tonnage in a short period
of time. We currently are marketing recovered
fiber directly to over 20 different countries.
Allan Company is a member in good
standing and actively involved in numerous recycling
organizations such as the Institute of Scrap Recycling
Industries (ISRI), Association of California Recycling
Industries (ACRI), Printers Industry of America
(PIA), Pacific Coast Paperbox Makers Association
(PCPMA), National Association of Information Destruction
(NAID), Association of Independent Corrugated
Converters (AICC), and the Food Grocers Association.
